Outrider Tactical T.O.R.D. Hardshell Hoody LW Ranger Green

The Outrider Tactical T.O.R.D. Hardshell Hoody LW Black is a lightweight and highly versatile rain jacket and multifunctional jacket made of a waterproof and breathable 3-layer laminate with membrane and tape sealed seams. The jacket has a variety of small details that make it an ideal choice for a very wide range of applications.

The T.O.R.D. Hardshell Hoody LW from Outrider Tactical is designed as a classic 3-layer lightweight hardshell jacket and is very versatile in this role, both as a lightweight standalone solution, and in combination with other clothing layers. The jacket is part of the Outrider Tactical layering principle and can be ideally combined with the T.O.R.D. Windblock Fleece Jacket AR for cold weather.

Special attention was paid to selecting a material that is waterproof and durable but does not have the typical stiffness. Another focus was to ensure that the fabric is as quiet as possible. As usual with a wet-weather jacket, the seams are waterproof sealed with tape. To keep the inside visually in the background, bright materials were avoided and a dark grey/black colour was chosen.

The waist can be adjusted with drawstrings to the left and right of the hip to create a seal on the body or, if desired, also to support the chimney effect. The sizes of the pockets are chosen to utilise the available space at the front to store large items. The jacket also has a classic upper-arm pocket on both sleeves for quick access to smaller items, such as a smartphone.

When designing the jacket, special care was taken to ensure that the side pockets remain accessible when using a plate carrier or chest harness and that the zips do not get underneath the plate. This minimises annoying pressure points.

The sleeve construction is designed to maximise the user's range of motion. There are no seams on the shoulder. The sleeves also feature loops on the upper arm for attaching moral and ID patches.

The waterproof main zip is a high-quality two-way SBS zip. There is a protective flap behind it that is designed to prevent neck irritation and avoid pinching the beard. The cuff of the sleeves is adjustable in size and can be adjusted to fit wrists and gloves.

The jacket is extended at the back to avoid exposing the back when kneeling or bending down. The inside pocket has a headphone outlet for professional staff still working with wired headsets. The pocket fits standard powerbanks or even smartphones and ID documents. There are a number of loops for pens and other small material to make the inside more organised.

The zip pulls ensure a good grip even in wet and bad conditions when wearing tactical gloves. Special attention has been paid to the design of the hood so that it fits snugly to the body without restricting freedom of movement. The shape of the hood can be adjusted with two drawstrings at the front and one at the back of the hood.
